CHASING HARRY WINSTON by Lauren Weisberger [Review]

After being put off by some so-so reviews, I finally checked out Chasing Harry Winston by Lauren Weisberger (author of The Devil Wears Prada). Honestly, I don’t know what’s wrong with everyone who didn’t like this book, I loved it. For me, this is the standard that all other chick lit books should hold themselves to. It’s fun, it moves fast, the characters are loveable, and you’ll find yourself getting caught up in all their drama.

The plot focuses on 3 main characters who are best friends (Emmy, Leigh, and Adriana). Emmy has just been scorned by her cheating boyfriend and is trying to get her life back together. Leigh seems to have the perfect job, the perfect man, and the perfect life. The rich and gorgeous Adriana is sick of the chase and ready to try a committed relationship. The story begins when Emmy and Adriana make a pact that will change their lives forever.

Weisberger has cleverly crafted a book that will appeal to a wide variety of women. Chasing Harry Winston has something for both the women out there that have been cheated on as well as those that have the perfect man and still aren’t completely happy. It’s also got a little something for those fabulous women who prefer the fun single life. Although this book is much different from Weisberger’s other success: The Devil Wears Prada, many of the themes are the same. You can tell that Weisberger values hard work and independence by the types of characters she creates.

So if you were like me and were put off by the lousy reviews but enjoy a good chick-lit book, give Chasing Harry Winston a shot. Hopefully, you will be as pleasantly surprised as I was.

I really want to read this book now! What you said in your review is soooo right – the reason I haven’t read it is because I’ve seen bad reviews.
