A List of Lists: Best Books of 2009

It’s December and you know what that means, it’s time for anyone and everyone with an opinion to make a “best of 2009” list. The lists are subjective, but they’re fun to look through and a good way to discover books that you haven’t heard about. Since I haven’t come across a single list that mirrors my favorite books of the year, look for my picks next week. Here are a few best of 2009 lists that I think are interesting:

The Book Design Review picks their Favorite Book Covers of 2009
Publisher’s Weekly picks their Best Books of 2009. This is a controversial list because the top ten are all written by male authors. Really, Publisher’s Weekly? Not one female author?
The New York Times picks 100 Notable Books of 2009
The New York Times’ 10 Best Books of 2009
School Library Journal’s list of Best Books of 2009 is made up of books for children and teens.
