Stephenie Meyer Wants You To Read “Bree Tanner” Before Watching ‘ECLIPSE

Stephenie Meyer, the author of the massively popular “Twilight” saga books, has come out to explain why she believes Bree Tanner deserved her own book. The author will release a new novella today entitled “The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner” and according to MTV News, Meyer believes the character of Bree needed further attention as part of her “Twilight” saga.

Meyer wrote the novella because she felt that her “Eclipse” novel was too focused on Bella’s point of view, especially given all the other events occurring in the novel. Meyer was unable to further explain the story of the newborn vampires, such as Bree, that appear in “Eclipse” and wanted a forum to better explore their story. Meyer focused on Bree in particular because of all the newborn vampires, she is not only the only one mentioned by name but is also the only one to meet the Cullen family and encounter the Volturi.

Meyer’s novella will hit stores today (You can get it here) and she is hoping the series’ diehard fans will read the book before they see the third film in the “Twilight” franchise. The next film, “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” hits movie theaters on June 30th.
