FROM CAPE TOWN WITH LOVE by Blair Underwood, Steven Barnes, and Tananarive Due [Review]

From Capetown with Love vook recently released their version of From Cape Town With Love, the third novel in the Tennyson Hardwick series. A vook is an ebook that also contains videos, and can be viewed on your computer or iPhone. The From Cape Town With Love vook contains six videos with Blair Underwood starring as Tennyson Hardwick. He’s an ex-gigolo, an actor, and a private detective who lives in LA. However, the story starts in South Africa where Tennyson takes a job as a bodyguard to world famous actress Sofia Matilin as she adopts a child from an orphanage. Months later, back in LA, Sofia throws a lavish birthday party for Nandi and hires Tennyson as security. Under his watch, the unthinkable happens and Nandi is kidnapped. The kidnappers demand no police involvement, so it’s up to Tennyson to get Nandi back to her mother.

From start to finish, From Cape Town With Love is an action-packed, intense story that also has a sexy undercurrent. I got a very LA noir vibe from both the story and the videos. Tennyson is an original character and I find him intriguing enough that I want to go back and read the previous novels in the series. The only reason I didn’t give the vook 5 stars is because it’s abridged and there were a few times where I felt like too many details were being glossed over. Author Tananarive Due discusses how they edited the book from 350 pages to just 85 on her blog, and it’s an interesting read.

Reading/watching the From Cape Town With Love vook was a fun experience. The videos were high quality and added a lot to the story. I mean, how can you not enjoy watching Blair Underwood? The man oozes sex appeal. From Cape Town With Love would be the perfect vook to kick back with at the beach this summer.
