Comedian Ellen DeGeneres will be putting out a new book about her life. Grand Central Publishing, a division of Hachette Book Group, will be publishing the book that is slated to come out in fall 2011. Check out the full press release below.

Grand Central Publishing will publish a book by comedian and actress Ellen DeGeneres. The book, not yet titled, will take a look at her life through her humor. It is slated for publication in fall 2011.

Grand Central Publishing, a division of Hachette Book Group, announced today that it will publish a book by comedian and actress Ellen DeGeneres. The book, not yet titled, will take a look at her life through her humor. It is slated for publication in fall 2011.

“I’m excited to be writing another book. I found that between my talk show, ‘American Idol’ and my late night blogging, I didn’t have enough ways to express myself,” said DeGeneres.

Deb Futter, VP, Editor-in-Chief, Hardcovers, of Grand Central Publishing, acquired world rights to the book. Futter commented, “Everyone loves Ellen. She is a beloved television icon and entertainment pioneer. We are thrilled to be publishing this book.”

Ellen DeGeneres’ distinctive comic voice has resonated with audiences from her first stand-up comedy appearances through her work today on television, film and in the literary world. DeGeneres’ hit syndicated talk show, “The Ellen DeGeneres” show, is now in its seventh season and has earned a total of 29 Daytime Emmy awards. Additionally, DeGeneres has won 11 People’s Choice Awards for Favorite Daytime Talk Show Host, Favorite Funny Female Star and Favorite Talk Show. Recently, she took on a new role by joining “American Idol” as the fourth judge. In addition to her stints hosting the Oscars and the Primetime Emmy Awards, DeGeneres served as host for an array of industry events including the 38th and 39th Grammy Awards, for which she earned an Emmy nomination. Her previous books, My Point.And I Do Have One (1995) and The Funny Thing Is.(2003) were both New York Times bestsellers.

The deal was negotiated by literary agent Esther Newberg, Executive VP and co-head of the New York office of ICM and Eddy Yablans, DeGeneres’ west coast talent agent at ICM, and DeGeneres’ lawyer, Kevin Yorn and manager, Eric Gold.
