How Scribd Is Creating Authors

One of the hardest things about becoming a successful writer is getting your work read. is making that part easy. For those of you not familiar with the site, here’s an excerpt off of their About Us page:

Scribd is the largest social publishing and reading site in the world. We’ve made it incredibly simple for anyone to share and discover informative, entertaining and original written content on the web and mobile devices. Our vision is to liberate the written word, to connect people and organizations with the information and ideas that matter most to them.

So basically, you can upload your writing to their site, which is read by millions of people each month, which is making it much easier for talented writers out there to get noticed. Recently, Media Bistro posted an article about how a young writer, Hyla Molander, posted her story on Scribd and received about 33,000 reads in just a few months. Molander also gives other writers out there some great advice on how to get established.
