President Obama’s Children’s Book Due November 16

Alfred A. Knopf Books for Young Readers, an imprint of Random House Children’s Books, will publish Of Thee I Sing: A Letter to My Daughters, a children’s illustrated book by President Barack Obama. The book will be released on November 16th, about two weeks after midterm elections.

Of Thee I Sing: A Letter to My Daughters is a “tribute to thirteen groundbreaking Americans and the ideals that have shaped our nation—from the artistry of Georgia O’Keeffe, to the courage of Jackie Robinson, to the patriotism of George Washington.”

Of Thee I Sing: A Letter to My Daughters is illustrated by award winning, New York Times bestselling artist Loren Long. It has a list price of $17.99.

The book is part of a deal Obama signed with Random House is 2004, before he was elected president. The publisher says the manuscript for the book was completed before he took office in 2009. Proceeds from the sale of Of Thee I Sing: A Letter to My Daughters will be donated to a scholarship fund for the children of fallen and disabled soldiers.
