TEMPEST the Latest YA Book Optioned by Summit

Summit Entertainment, the film studio behind the Twilight movies, has optioned the movie rights to Julie Cross’ upcoming YA book, The Tempest. It’s the first book in a planned trilogy, and it’s Cross’ first novel.

Cross describes the book on her website: “Tempest is the first in a trilogy about a 19-year-old time traveler who witnesses his girlfriend’s murder and inadvertently jumps back two years; stuck there, he’s recruited by a shadowy government agency run by the man he thought was his father and vows to save his girlfriend no matter the cost.”

Wow, that sounds really good, right? I’m making a mental note to check this book out when it’s released, whenever that is. I haven’t been able to find a release date, but Tempest will be published by Thomas Dunne Books, an imprint of St. Martin’s Press.

Thanks for the mention! This is really nice! And the release date will be sometime next fall. It seems so far away from now, but I imagine the time will go fast.
