Read an Excerpt of Stephen King’s AMERICAN VAMPIRE Comic Book

Stephen King has a lot going on right now–his latest book Full Dark, No Stars was released yesterday (watch the book trailer here), his Dark Tower series is being adapted to both film and TV, and he’s been busy co-writing the American Vampire comic book series with Scott Snyder. /Film currently has an exclusive excerpt of the first seven pages of King’s segment of American Vampire, with art by Rafael Albuquerque.

The comic book features two different stories, one written by King and one written by Snyder. In Snyder’s story, we meet Pearl, a young woman with dreams of becoming a star in 1920’s Hollywood. King’s story is a western about the original American vampire who is “a stronger, faster creature than any vampire ever seen before with rattlesnake fangs and powered by the sun.”

The series first story arc, told over five issues, is currently available in hardcover as American Vampire: Volume 1.
