JK Rowling to Write More Books Set in Harry Potter Universe?

At last week’s London premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1, author J. K. Rowling acknowledged that she is open to writing more books set in the wizarding world. According to The Telegraph, Rowling said, ”If in 10 years’ time I wanted to do another one I probably would. However, I said to Dan (Radcliffe) I don’t think there will ever be another book with Harry as the central character. So Dan can sleep easy.”

I think this is great news! I feel like Harry’s story is over, so I’m glad to hear Rowling say that she probably wouldn’t make him the main character. But another book set in the Harry Potter universe? Hell yeah!

So what do you think? Would you read a Harry Potter book that didn’t have Harry as the central character? And who would you like to see the book focus on? Harry’s children? A brand new character? Perhaps a Dumbledore prequel? Let me know in the comments!

Oh hell yes! I would read anything that she wrote. Especially if it was set in the Harry Potter world. I really don’t care where the focus is because there are so many stories left to be told, I just hope she comes up with another great idea.

I agree–I will read anything she writes in the future!

YES! YES! Please JK Rowling! This would be so so so totally awesome.

I’d love to hear about the life of Albus Dumbledore, one of the descendants of the main characters in HP’s time. Or about the founding of Hogwarts! Really, there is so much potential in this universe. I’d love to get to know more about Hogwarts and the other creatures in the HP world. This would be something I would look forward to in anticipation.

Maybe there could be a book on that universe written in a muggle’s point of view that crosses over in certain point, like someone saw the flying car from the HP&TCOS [or another of the many occurrences that may have been noticed by muggles]and many years of intense investigation later meets a wizard/witch [maybe even someone we heard bout on the HP books] and they end up marrying… really, there is so- so much to write from. I am very happy to hear this news!!!!

You’ve got some great ideas there! I really like the idea of a book from a muggle’s point of view.

I reckon a dumbledore prequal would be awesome! Just to have a look into more depth a bit of his history you hear through out the book would be amazing

I think it would be awesome if she wrote more books. What I would like to read: Tom Riddle/Voldemort’s biography, Dumbledore’s biography (maybe something like ”The Live and Lies of A. Dumbledore” from Rita Skeeter’s point of view – the book should also have comments about the ‘reality’ of her writing), The Advantures of the Mauraders (Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs), something about R.A.B., the four founders of the school etc. …. there’s just so much she could write … hope she will …. can’t wait

A great idea would to write something about the four founders on hogwarts or something. I also think that something about dumbledore’s or voldermort’s would be cool. Please dont end the HP world!!

how about a book about one of harrys kids trying to live up to his fathers accomplishments. Living as harry potters son couldn’t be easy and there would be lots of pressure on him to do great things.
