The Daily: The First iPad Newspaper

Two of the world’s most influential men are bringing together two of the world’s most influential companies for a joint project. Apple CEO Steve Jobs and News Corp. owner Rupert Murdoch are teaming up to launch a newspaper for the iPad.

The planned paper will be entitled the “Daily” and will be designed specifically for viewing on tablet devices, in particular Apple’s iPad. The new paper is expected to cost $.99 and will be delivered directly to a user’s iPad, courtesy of the engineers at Apple.

Murdoch was swayed toward the idea after studying a survey that showed consumers now spend more time reading the news on mobile devices and not the internet. The move could really pay off for Murdoch and News Corp as many analysts believe some 40 million iPads could be in circulation by the end of 2011.
