SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE’s Book Ad – “The Abacus Conundrum”

Robert DeNiro hosted Saturday Night Live over the weekend, and appeared in a fake commercial as “super author” Harlan Kane shilling his latest book, “The Abacus Conundrum.” The ad parodies thriller authors like Robert Ludlum and Dan Brown with some hilariously random book titles. My favorites: “The Godiva Gyroscope,” “The Pokemon Directive,” “The Marmaduke Betrayal,” and “The Fuddruckers Ultimatum.” It also skewers authors like James Patterson who seem to release a new book every month (“I don’t know, people keep reading ’em,” he says with a shrug).
