Amazon Selling Wikileak Books After Banning The Website

Amazon

Amazon.com took a good deal of heat from Wikileaks supporters on Thursday after the company was accused of condemning Wikileaks while also profiting from it. The fresh criticism comes quickly on the heels of threats from hackers to attack the company’s website.

The problems started for Amazon after they refused to host the Wikileaks website, while at the same time profiting from a book about the online document leaker containing excerpts of the leaked documents. The book in question is for sale on Amazon’s United Kingdom website.

Amazon said in a statement that the company was deciding not to host Wikileaks because the website violated the terms of service. While Amazon is well known for selling books, the company also has a web hosting service that has previously hosted Wikileaks documents.
