Do You Have a Holiday Reading Tradition?

A few years ago, Amie gave me an awesome Christmas gift: Holidays on Ice by David Sedaris. It contains his hilarious story The SantaLand Diaries, which is about the time he spent working as Crumpet the elf at Macy’s. Listen to him read a portion of the story on NPR:

Amie’s gift ended up starting a Christmas tradition. Every year when Jose and I are out doing our shopping, we listen to the audiobook version of SantaLand Diaries. It makes us laugh so much that we don’t mind being stuck in traffic or driving around endlessly trying to find parking. This year we also listened to “Six to Eight Black Men” and laughed our butts off. I think we’re going to have to make that a yearly tradition as well.

So what are your holiday reading traditions? Maybe you read The Night Before Christmas or The Polar Express every year? Let me know in the comments!
