Apple Updates iBooks, Canadian Books Coming Soon

Apple’s iBooks service received an upgrade last Thursday that provides users with many of the features they have been requesting for some time now. The newest version of the app, version 1.2, was inspired by suggestions from iBook users.

Among the notable changes to iBooks is the addition of folders to the program. The folders are labeled “collections” and come standard with two folders, books and PDFs. Users can now also email and print PDFs, and view animated books including children’s books.

In related news, Canada’s government has approved Apple’s iBookstore. This move opens the door for Canadian books to be included in their library. The iBookstore has previously been available in Canada, but did not include any Canadian works in it.
