General Stanley McChrystal’s Memoir Acquired by Portfolio

Stanley McChrystal

The upcoming memoir of United States Army General Stanley McChrystal has recently been acquired by Portfolio. The publisher, part of the Penguin company, nabbed the worldwide rights to the General’s forthcoming memoir.

General McChrystal’s memoir is untitled at this point but is expected to be ready for publishing in 2012. The book is expected to offer insight into McChrystal’s 38 year career in the U.S. Army, and according to Portfolio president Adrian Zackheim the book will talk about effective leadership under pressure.

McChrystal was the former commander of U.S. forces in Afghanistan and now works with the Yellow Ribbon Foundation. The group provides aid to wounded U.S. veterans.

In my opinion, the reporters and editors for Rolling Stones were very gullible. A more experienced (i.e. cynical) reporter or editor would have asked that key question, “Why am I so lucky as to have this story dropped into my Lap?”!

I predict that Stanley A. McChrystal will be the 2012 Republican darkhorse presidential candidate. Once the present field of bumblers have finished ripping each apart.

I would hope that McChrystal will turn out be as competent a President as Eisenhower.
