Sandie’s 2010 Year End Book Wrap-Up

Sandie's 2010 Year End Wrap-Up
Only a couple of days left and we’ll officially be in 2011. But before 2010 ends, Kristen inspired me to do my own 2010 wrap up by answering the fun survey created by Jamie at The Perpetual Page-Turner.

Turns out I read a lot of comic book this year, more than books, so I decided to separate the comic books, from regular books for some of the answers where it applies. And just to be clear, my answers will be based on the books that I read in 2010, and not the books that came out in 2010. Here are my answers.

1. Best book of 2010?
Book: The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

Comic: The Walking Dead by Robert Kirkman

2. Worst book of 2010?
Lucky enough, I don’t think I read anything that I didn’t like this year.

3. Most Disappointing Book of 2010?
Again, I didn’t really dislike any book I read, but if I had to pick one that I was a bit disappointed in, it would have to be Need by Carrie Jones.

4. Most surprising (in a good way!) book of 2010?
Irredeemable by Mark Waid. Someone recommended it to me during Comic Con this year, and it blew my mind. I read the first three volumes back to back.

5. Book you recommended to people most in 2010?
That would have to be The Walking Dead by Robert Kirkman. And if you haven’t read it yet, may I recommend you pick it up. As someone who’s not a horror/zombie fan, I couldn’t put it down, that’s saying something.

6. Best series you discovered in 2010?
Book: The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

Comic Book: The Walking Dead by Robert Kirkman

7. Favorite new authors you discovered in 2010?
Mmm, I don’t think that I have any new favorite authors.

8. Most hilarious read of 2010?
I just realized that I must read a lot of serious books, because I can’t think of anything that I have read that was really funny. Might have to lighten up a bit in 2011.

9. Most thrilling, unputdownable book in 2010?
Book: The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

Comic Book: The Walking Dead by Robert Kirkman

10. Book you most anticipated in 2010?
I think that would have to be The Passage by Justin Cronin because there was a lot of hype around it.

11. Favorite cover of a book you read in 2010?
House of Mystery Vol. 4: The Beauty of Decay by Matthew Sturges and Esao Andrews. Love the cover and the comic.

House of Mystery Vol. 4: The Beauty of Decay cover

12. Most memorable character in 2010?
Rick Grimes from The Walking Dead

13. Most beautifully written book in 2010?
Book: The Passage by Justin Cronin

Comic Book: The Sandman by Neil Gaiman

14. Book that had the greatest impact on you in 2010?
I can’t think of anything that really impacted me. Mostly I just enjoyed a lot of books.

15. Book you can’t believe you waited UNTIL 2010 to finally read?
The Sandman by Neil Gaiman, it is one of the most fascinating, inventive story I have read in the last few years.
