Barnes & Noble Made It Rain This Holiday Season

Barnes & Noble

Book retailing giant Barnes & Noble capped a great Holiday shopping season by not only increasing sales, but hitting their highest single-day sales mark in company history. The book retailer experienced their greatest single-day sales ever on December 23, 2010.

Barnes & Noble enjoyed a strong Holiday season over the nine-week period that ended on January 1, 2011, posting sales growth of 9.7% compared to last year. The retailer’s sales were driven largely by their eReading device, the Nook. On December 23, 2010 the company posted its largest single-day sales figures in its 40 year history.

The retailer is expected to release more detailed figures on January 6, 2011. To date, the company has only said that the Nook drove Holiday sales with units sold reaching well into the millions.
