Senator Joseph Lieberman to Write about Sabbath in GIFT OF REST

Senator Joseph Lieberman

Senator Joseph Lieberman (who recently announced his decision not to run again) is working on a book about his Jewish faith. According to Yahoo.com, the announcement was made by Simon & Schuster’s Howard Books division.

The book, titled GIFT OF REST will come out in August and is co-written by David Klinghoffer. It is said to be a reflection on Lieberman’s observance of the Jewish Sabbath, a day of rest that he has reportedly called a gift that has anchored, ordered, and inspired his life

The 68-year-old is a longtime Connecticut Democrat who was re-elected as an independent in 2006 and, as Al Gore’s running mate in 2000, narrowly missed becoming the first Jewish vice president.
