Alex Pettyfer up for THE LAST APPRENTICE

Alex Pettyfer

Looks like Alex Pettyfer has his pick of fantasy roles to play, but right now he is reportedly only interested in one. According to NYMag.com talks between his reps and Screen Gems reached an impasse and he won’t be starring in The Mortal Instruments, after all.

That should be bad news for an actor, but not when you’ve got your pick of projects. Looks like Pettyfer has been offered the lead role in Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures’ adaptation of Joseph Delaney’s best-selling YA series THE LAST APPRENTICE.

The series (also known to U.K. readers as The Wardstone Chronicles) tells the story of a teenage boy training to be an exorcist in the 1700s. Jeff Bridges and Jennifer Lawrence are reportedly eyeing the project as well with Bridges being offered the part of the exorcist apprentice master and Lawrence that of a suspected witch.
