Hailee Steinfeld Cast in Screen Adaptation of FORGOTTEN

Hailee Steinfeld

Actress Hailee Steinfeld has a career that is moving fast, especially for a 14-year old. First she turned in an Oscar nominated breakout performance as Mattie Ross in the Joel and Ethan Coen-directed True Grit. And now, according to Deadline.com the young actress is about to get a movie made especially for her.

Word is that Paramount Pictures just closed a deal for the screen rights to FORGOTTEN, a novel by Cat Patrick that will be published by Little Brown in June. The book and film are being set up as a star vehicle for Steinfeld, with Fake Empire‘s Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage producing. This also marks the first studio deal for Steinfeld since she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress.

Steinfeld is set to play the role of London Lane, a 16-year old whose memory is erased at 4:33 every night. When she wakes up the following morning, all London can remember are events from her future. When she meets a new boy at school, the girl becomes increasingly frustrated that she can’t seem to find him in her memory of things to come.
