Michael Bay Brings ZOMBIES VS. ROBOTS to Big Screen
If you’re anything like me there’s a chance that you probably can’t get enough of zombies. After hit films like Zombieland and hit TV shows like The Walking Dead, it seems the that the undead are everywhere and now, according to Deadline.com, yet another zombie comic is heading to the big screen.
News is that the comic ZOMBIES VS. ROBOTS (created by Ashley Wood and Chris Ryall), has been used as the basis for a spec script called Inherit the Earth. The film is said to be a co-production between Platinum Dunes, Circle of Confusion and IDW, and produced by Michael Bay, Brad Fuller, Andrew Form, Dave Alpert and Rick Jacobs. Meanwhile Ted Adams is reportedly on board as exec producer.
Not surprisingly, apparently there was more than one studio interested in the film. The movie tells the story of a young girl who is the last survivor on earth. There’s a pack zombies (who are, oddly enough, intelligent and evolved in this version) after her, but she has a group of robots on her side, protecting her from the horde.
Transformers’ director Bay definitely has plenty of experience with robots and could really turn this into something exceptional. I know I for one can’t wait to see it. If it turns out to be half as good as it sounds on paper, it could be a hit.
