Alan Tudyk Cast in ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER

Alan Tudyk

Folks, I’ve been a big…..okay, let’s make that huge Firefly fan for a long time now and as much as I love the captain (aka Nathan Fillion), Wash (aka Alan Tudyk) was, and always will be, my favorite. There was just something about his silliness couple with his complete competence when at Serenity’s controls, that I adored. So when I heard this bit of news I was very excited by the prospect of seeing one of my favorite actors in this unique film.

Variety.com reports that Tudyk has been cast as Stephen A. Douglas in 20th Century Fox’s adaptation of ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER.

The 3D summer release is being directed by Timur Bekmambetov, from a script written by author Seth Grahame-Smith. Producing the project along with Helmer are Tim Burton and Jim Lemley.

The cast also includes Benjamin Walker in the title role as well as Anthony Mackie, Dominic Cooper, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Jimmi Simpson.

Next up for Tudyk is a starring role in the Anchor Bay drama Beautiful Boy. He also has a supporting role in Michael Bay’s Transformers: Dark of the Moon and was recently cast as a lead in ABC comedy pilot Suburgatory.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is scheduled for release on June 22, 2012.
