I Am Number 4’s Teresa Palmer in Talks to Join WARM BODIES Adaptation

Teresa Palmer

Teresa Palmer, who received a lot of attention for her role in I am Number Four is apparently now turning her attention from aliens to zombies. Heat Vision reports that she is in talks to star opposite Nicholas Hoult (A Single Man) in Summit’s big screen adaptation of the upcoming novel WARM BODIES by Isaac Marion.

Described as a cross between Shaun of the Dead and Twilight, Warm Bodies follows R, a zombie undergoing an existential crisis who can only connect with the outside world via a few grunted syllables, but his inner life is surprisingly active. He enters into an unexpected relationship with the girlfriend (Palmer) of one of his victims, which, as it grows, may have a transformative effect on other zombies and the world.

Palmer’s character is the “daughter of one of the humans’ military leaders who is tiring of a life of constantly fighting off zombie attacks.”

Warm Bodies the novel will be released on April 26, 2011 and is being published by Atria Books, a division of Simon and Schuster.

The film is being produced by Bruna Papanadrea under her Make Movies banner. Laurie Webb and Cori Shepherd Stern will serve as executive producers and production will begin this summer.

In addition to playing Number 6 in I Am Number 4, Palmer has recently appeared in The Sorceror’s Apprentice and Take Me Home Tonight.

Is Warm Bodies on your to be read list? How does it sound as a movie?

Actually Warm Bodies is on my pile of books to read and I’ve been looking forward to reading it, so I’ll probably have a review for it soon :) Can’t wait to read it.

Oh, very cool. It certainly sounds interesting and I kind of love the idea of a zombie having an existential crisis.
