PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES: DREADFULLY EVER AFTER By Steve Hockensmit [Review]

I absolutley love the Pride and Prejudice and Zombie series; and was THRILLED when I had a chance to review the newest installment PRIDE AND PREJUDUCE AND ZOMBIES: DREADFULLY EVER AFTER. I was not disappointed.

In Dreadfully Ever After, Elizabeth and Darcy are married, and Lizzy is having a hard time adjusting to married life – she misses being a zombie hunter. Well, she’s in luck! Not long after her and Darcy’s marriage, Darcy is bit by an unmentionable, and so the story begins. Obviously with all of her training, Lizzy knows that there isn’t a way to heal a zombie, and the only way to protect her town is to kill Darcy.

But how do you kill the love of your life?

Well… If you’re Elizabeth Bennett (Darcy, whatever) you don’t. Instead, Lizzy listens to Lady Catherine who explains that she knows of a cure for the unmentionables; they just need to take a trip to London to find it! With the help of Mr Bennett, Kitty and Mary, Lizzy starts her trip to the city to find the cure that will save her husband. But is she too late? Will Elizabeth have to kill Darcy, her true love?!

Like I said, I love the Pride and Prejudice and Zombie series, so this was RIGHT up my alley. I’ve spoken to friends that are Jane Austen purists that absolutely HATE these books, but I think you need to go into them with a sense of humor and relize that it ISN’T Jane Austen writing the books, but that they still can be fun!!

Which is exactly what Dreadfully Ever After is. It’s a fun read, it’s fast, and it puts a twist on the well loved characters from Pride and Prejudice. I’ve read the origional, without the flesh eating zombies, and also have enjoyed that version… but personally, I think a few zombies make every story better.

If you were a fan of the first two books in the series, you will love Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: Dreadfully Ever After. And if you’re new to the series, it’s still fairly easy to jump in without reading the first two books – if you know the basic story of Pride and Prejudice, you’ll be fine.

Be sure to grab Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: Dreadfully Ever After right away!

I have never checked out any of those books, but they sound hilarious. Maybe one day. I liked reading your thoughts.
