THE HUNGER GAMES Reaps Two Careers: Marvel and Glimmer

This is fun! Another day, another two Tributes cast in THE HUNGER GAMES. Reaped today are District 1’s career Tributes Marvel and Glimmer, who will be played by Jack Quaid and Leven Rambin, as shown on the movie’s Facebook page.

Quaid is the son of Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan, and this is quite a way for the newbie actor to make a splash. Rambin has a much fuller resume, though most of her work has been in television. She is probably best known for playing Sloan Rile, Mark Sloan’s daughter on Grey’s Anatomy and Riley Dawson on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

As with yesterday’s announcement of Amandla Stenberg and Dayo Okeniyi as District 11 tributes Rue and Thresh, producers seem to be sticking close to the book’s physical descriptions with these choices. Glimmer is supposed to be a beautiful blond with emerald eyes, and I’d say Rambin has that covered.

Along with the news that Elizabeth Banks is in talks to play Effie, The Hunger Games seems to be cruising along toward getting production started. What do you think about this latest casting?
