Read an Excerpt From Justin Cronin’s THE TWELVE (Sequel to THE PASSAGE)

Last summer’s must-read vampire thriller, The Passage, will be released in paperback next Tuesday, May 17th. The paperback version of Justin Cronin’s popular book contains an exclusive excerpt from book two in the trilogy, The Twelve, which will be out in 2012. I’m not sure if it’s the same sneak peek that will be found in the paperback, but Hachette Australia recently posted an excerpt from The Twelve on their website (go here to read it).

The Hachette Australia preview introduces us to Bernard Kittridge, who is also known as “Last Stand in Denver.” This matches up with the little we know about The Twelve: that the book will reset to Year Zero and will pick up in Denver just days after the outbreak.

Now, from Entertainment Weekly‘s short preview of The Twelve, I’m guessing the excerpt in the paperback is different than the one I linked to above because the EW version seems to be from Amy’s point of view. I definitely plan to get my hands on a copy and check it out. I’m anxious to find out as many details as possible about The Twelve.

Argh now I can’t wait. I’m wondering why the army would be after Kittridge and why he would be running from them.
