Borders Books Parting Ways with Seattle’s Best Coffee

If you are one of the many people who enjoy buying a $4 latte while you shop for $20 book, then this might be sad news for you.

Borders Books recently announced that it was ending the deal it had with Seattle’s Best Coffee as the café operators inside the Borders Bookstore. The move is intended to save Borders some money and allow it to operate its own cafés with a more flexible menu.

Personal take: Let me get this straight. Borders…BORDERS..who can’t keep a store open to save its life is going to go into the coffee business. SMH…( means Shaking My Head)

Borders was already in the coffee business. It operated its own cafes before signing that terrible deal with Seattlles Best about five years ago.

Borders coffee was absolutely terrible before it teamed up with Seattle’s Best.  This is a bad move backward for the company and they will lose many customers if/when the quality drops back to its previous state.
