ROYAL PAINS Tie-In Novel Released by NBC and Penguin
If you want to add some Hamptons glamour to your summer reading list, you might was to check out the new Royal Pains tie-in novel. NBCUniversal and Penguin recently announced the release of Royal Pains: First, Do No Harm, which will feature “doctor for hire” Dr. Hank Lawson.
If you’re not familiar with the Royal Pains TV show, Hank owns a concierge medical practice, HankMed, in the Hamptons. His brother/CFO of HankMed, Evan, and his physician’s assistant, Divya, assist him. In addition to treating the rich and famous who summer in the Hamptons, Hank also tries to help the less fortunate.
Royal Pains: First, Do No Harm was written by doctor and author D. P. Lyle, M.D. He is the Macavity Award-winning and Edgar Award-nominated author of several non-fiction books and several thrillers.
Here’s more about Royal Pains: First Do No Harm by D. P. Lyle, M.D.:
Hamptons aristocrat Eleanor Parker Wentworth is one of HankMed’s most cherished patients. With her granddaughter’s wedding coming up, Ms. Wentworth is quite stressed. But Hank is more concerned with the bride-to-be, Nicole. After Hank meets her at a pre-wedding party, she shows no recognition of him later that same day. Is it a case of wedding-day jitters—or something much more serious? With an A-list crowd waiting for the walk down the aisle, Hank will have to think fast and work faster before the wedding march turns into a funeral dirge.
This isn’t a first for NBC—they’ve also released tie-in novels for shows like Monk, Burn Notice, and Psych. ABC has also had success with their Castle tie-in novels featuring Nikki Heat, which, in my opinion, are quite good. Have you read any of these books? Did you enjoy them?
