Universal Studios Ends Production of WICKED LOVELY
Universal Studios is dumping yet another project from its production list, this time citing style differences. WICKED LOVELY has now become the second project cut by the studio after its high profile stoppage of “Ouija.”
Wicked Lovely was an adaptation of a best-selling series of books by Melissa Marr set in a secret world of fairies. In the story, a young girl has the ability to see the hidden world of the fairies. When the fairies discover her ability she comes under threat from the fairies and is even forced to marry one of the hidden world’s kings.
Universal’s adaptation of the Hasbro board game, Ouija, was ended previously based upon financial issues. The studio has stated that Wicked Lovely was dropped because it does not fit the studio’s film needs.
