Review Policy

We are currently not accepting new submissions.

Book Equals is happy to accept review copies from authors and publishers. If you would like to pitch us a book, please email us at info [at] bookequals [dot] com or use the form on our Contact Page. Because of the amount of requests we receive, we can unfortunately not always respond to each one, but we will try. However, even if you do not hear back from us for one title, feel free to pitch us other titles.

You can find all our published reviews here.

Here is some general information as well as our book review policy.

Reviews Rules

While we will make our best efforts to review every single book we request, we cannot guarantee that a review will ever appear on Book Equals. The same applies to unsolicited books sent to us.

If a writer covering a book just cannot get into it, we will try to find a replacement for the review, but in the case that this is not possible, no review will be posted.

In addition, our writers will write their honest opinion of the book they are reviewing, which means that reviews may not always be positive. Also, we do not accept payments for reviews.

Timeline

Because our writers have quite a few books on their reading list, it is hard to provide a specific timeline for when a review will be published. If you need a review to be published by a certain date, please make sure to let us know as it might affect our decision as to whether the books will be accepted.

If an ARC is provided, we will try and get the review up before or within a month of the release date.

In general, we do try and have any book requested reviewed in a timely manner.

Genre

We do not usually accept self-published, memoirs, sports, political, or religious books.

We accept a wide variety of genres including young adult, fantasy, urban fantasy, sci-fi, mystery, thrillers, chick-lit, romance, paranormal romance, historical fiction, literary fiction, contemporary fiction, comic books, and more.

Once in a while we do cover nonficiton books, but it is not our main interest.

As a general rule, we are pretty open to discovering new types of books, so if you think something might be of interest, feel free to pitch it.

Series

If you are pitching a book that is part of a series which we haven’t read yet, we will most likely ask for a copy of the previous books in the series so that our writers can catch up. That is unless of course the series has a high number of books, which can each be enjoyed individually.

Format

We accept regular books, audiobooks, as well as ebooks, digital galleys/ARCs and PDFs.

Our preferred method of receiving e-galleys is through NetGalley, where we are a listed Review Organization Accepting NetGalley Titles.

Blog Tours

We do participate in blog tours and will make sure to have reviews and other coverage published in time for the tour.
